arrow WHAT IS CANVAS DIGITAL PRINTING ?

Canvas digital printing is an innovative process employing digital print technology for transferring digital images and photographs onto canvas to produce stunning artwork. .  Ink is applied directly to the canvas using digital technology. Digital canvas printing is used to print your enlarged image onto the canvas or create a modern work of art. Superchrome specializes in digitally reproducing high quality digital canvas art prints and photographic prints.

arrowPRINTING PROCESSES

Since the 1990s, canvas print has been associated with either dye sublimation or inkjet print processes, both of which are employed by Superchrome for canvas digital printing,.  Our modern HP inkjet-based printers are capable of printing your images directly from a computer onto the required canvas substrate. The ink or toner does not permeate the canvas, as does conventional ink, but forms a thin layer on the surface. With some processes colour is made to adhere to the substrate by using a fuser fluid with heat process (toner) or UV curing process (ink).
Superchrome has also invested in the latest large format printers which are capable of printing onto canvas rolls measuring 60" or more. This allows us to produce extra wide canvas digital printing for use as backdrops or light weight canvas panels for use in retail outlets and advertising.
Our canvas digital printing processes use UV ink and eco solvent inks because they have excellent anti-fade and weather resistance properties. For additional protection, we can add a spray laminate over the canvas.

arrow WAYS TO DISPLAY CANVAS PRINTS

FRAMING – This is a traditional way of displaying artwork that is designed to be hung on walls. After the image is printed, the canvas is trimmed to size and glued or stapled to traditional stretcher bars and displayed in your choice of frame.

GALLERY WRAP - This is a method of stretching a canvas so that it wraps around the stretcher bar sides and is secured to the back of the wooden frame. The image appears on the sides of the frame as well as the front, allowing for a frameless presentation to enhance the three-dimensional effect of the mounted print.
Gallery-wrap is a very popular way to display canvas digital printing.  However, because the edges of the canvas are wrapped over thick bars, about two inches from each side are lost in the wrap.  To overcome this, we can provide full-bleed print that is designed to continue round the edges of a stretcher frame once gallery-wrapped to prevent a loss of the visible image area.
