Phototex fabric prints

A printed fabric with a self-adhesive back, made for interior walls. It suits rooms where you want a large image without a permanent installation.

Fabric that sticks to the wall.

Phototex is a thin woven fabric coated with an adhesive on the reverse. It has a soft, low-sheen surface, so it reads more like a wallcovering than a sticker, and it picks up far less glare from spotlights than a glossy film.

It is usually chosen for interior walls that are flat, clean and sound. Think of a feature wall in a showroom, a themed room at an event, or a corridor that needs a change of image for a season.

Why people pick it over vinyl

  • Finish. The woven surface looks calmer under direct light.
  • Handling. Fabric is more forgiving to position than a stiff film, which helps on long lengths.
  • Short-term schemes. It suits graphics that are meant to come down again, though no adhesive is risk-free on every paint.

When vinyl is the better call

Choose self-adhesive vinyl where a graphic has to be wiped often, sits outdoors, or goes on glass. Phototex is an interior product, and a damp or textured wall is a poor match for it.

Check the wall first

Fresh paint, flaking paint and heavily textured plaster are the usual causes of trouble. Let new paint cure fully, and try a small offcut in a hidden corner if the finish of the wall matters to you. Tell us what the surface is when you ask for a price.

Useful to know

Your questions.

Can Phototex be taken down and reused?

It is designed to be removable, but how well it comes away depends on the wall and how long it has been up. Plan on it as a temporary graphic and ask us before you rely on reusing a piece.

Will it work on a wall with a textured finish?

Not reliably. The adhesive needs a smooth surface, so a textured wall may show through or stop the fabric bonding properly.

Is it suitable for outdoors?

No. It is an interior material. Look at vinyl or PVC for outdoor graphics.
