Great files.
Better results.
A little preparation helps your artwork make a smooth transition from screen to print.
Start with the final size.
Tell us the finished width and height, including units. If you are supplying artwork at a reduced scale, clearly state the scale and the required output size.
Use the best source file
Send the original artwork or photograph where possible. Screenshots and images saved from social media may not contain enough detail for a large print. The resolution needed depends on the finished size and viewing distance; ask us to check before you enlarge a file.
Check fonts, links and cropping
A print-ready PDF is often useful, but confirm the preferred format with the team. Embed fonts or outline text where appropriate, and include linked images. Keep an editable copy of your original design.
Confirm bleed and safe areas
Bleed, hems, seams and graphic fittings vary by product. Ask for the correct template or finishing dimensions before setting up your artwork. Keep text and logos clear of trims, wraps and panel joins.
Talk to us about colour
Screens and printed materials show colour differently. Supply any brand colour references and discuss a sample or proof if a close match is important. Do not convert colour profiles without checking the requirements for the job.
Review before production
Check spelling, phone numbers, dimensions, image cropping and artwork version names. Confirm which file has been approved for print and keep a copy of the approval.
