3x3 pop-up stands
The name refers to the frame: three squares wide by three high. As a rough guide that gives a printed wall about 2.2m tall (7ft 3in) and a little wider, enough to fill the back of a small stand.

What you get.
A folding frame opens out like a lattice. Printed panels then hang from magnetic bars across the front, side by side, so they read as one picture. The whole thing goes into a wheeled case. Standing in front of it, you will find the top is a head or so above a tall adult and that it spans about the width of a single garage door. It has the feel of a wall, not a sign, which makes it a natural choice for a first exhibition.
Exact sizes differ between frames and between curved and straight versions, so get the true dimensions and a template before anyone starts on the artwork.
Curved or straight?
| Curved | Straight | |
|---|---|---|
| Look | Softer, with a gentle bow | Flat, like a wall |
| Depth taken from the stand | More | Less |
| Sitting against a shell scheme wall | Does not sit flush | Sits close |
| Standing alone in a foyer | Holds attention from the sides | Reads best face on |
| Text running full width | Follows the curve | Stays flat |
Our leaning: on a small stand where floor is tight, go straight. In open space, with people approaching from several angles, a curve earns its depth.
Designing across the panels
With three panels across the front, a logo placed in the centre sits on one panel with no join through it, which is handy. Keep to these habits:
- Keep faces and small type away from the two joins.
- Put your main message at or above the shoulder height of a standing person, since tables and visitors will hide the lower third.
- Run backgrounds across the joins, so that a slight misalignment does not show.
- Remember the ends: panels that wrap round the sides are worth using, if only for a plain colour.
Our page on designing a pop-up graphic goes into this further, and our team can fit your artwork to the template or design it from scratch.
Does it fit your stand?
On a 3m wide stand a 3x3 usually leaves a little room at the side, while on a 2m wide space it will probably be too wide, so check the figures. Shows and venues often have rules about what can stand against shell walls and how high it can go. Read the exhibitor manual, or ask the organiser, before ordering. If this is your first show, our first-time exhibitor checklist keeps the rest in order.
Pop-ups are quoted to order. Send us the shape you want and whether you need design help.

Your questions.
How long does a 3x3 take to put up?
With a little practice it is a short job for one or two people. Do a trial build before the show, not on the morning of it.
Can the panels be changed for a different event?
Yes. Panels are separate from the frame, so new graphics can replace old ones. See our page on replacement pop-up graphics.
Can it be taken on a train or a plane?
The wheeled case helps, but it is bulky. Check the size and weight of the case against your carrier's rules before you travel.
