Student print discounts

Student discounts are available at Superchrome with proof that you are studying. Add a bit of planning and a small budget will go further than you think.

How to ask for it.

  1. Say you are a student when you first get in contact, not after the job is printed.
  2. Have your proof ready. A current student card or a letter from your college is the sort of thing to expect, but ask us what we need for your order.
  3. Tell us the course or show if there is a date behind the job.
  4. Ask us to confirm the discount in your quote.

We do not publish a fixed rate here. Ask us how it applies to what you are printing, and whether it can be combined with quantity discounts or other offers.

What things cost before any discount.

Use these as a starting point for your budget.

Guide prices from our price list. They exclude VAT and delivery and assume print-ready artwork.

Large format poster printing carries a £35 minimum order, so check how that affects a small job. It is one more reason to read the next section.

Sharing an order.

Poster price bands are counted on prints of one size in one order, and each print can be a different image. So several students on a course who all want the same size may reach a lower band by putting their work through together. Ask us how a shared order would be set up, including who pays and where it goes. How volume print pricing works has the bands.

Spending a small budget wisely.

  • Test before you commit. Print a section of your best image small, on your college printer, to check the crop and text before paying for the full size.
  • Choose the size your work needs. A sharp A2 can look better on a wall than a soft A0 made from a small file.
  • Skip the mount if the print will be pinned. Rigid boards earn their cost when a work has to stand or hang flat, not for a crit.
  • Book early. Deadlines for degree shows land at the same time for everyone. Allow time for a reprint if something goes wrong.
  • Check your file. Listed prices assume print-ready artwork, so read our artwork guide first.

Planning for a final show?

Our page on student degree show printing looks at materials and hanging for shows in more depth. If you are unsure about a size, send us the image, and we will tell you how far it can go.

Your questions.

Do I need to be studying art to get the discount?

Ask us. Student discounts are available with proof, so tell us what you are studying and what you need printed.

Does the discount apply to every product?

Check with us for your specific order. We will confirm what applies in your quote.

Can my tutor order for the whole class?

Ask us. A single order for a group can work well, so tell us the numbers and sizes and we will talk through how to set it up.
