Roller banner stands

University open day displays have one job above all: helping a nervous applicant and their parents find the right room and the right person. This page is for student recruitment, marketing and departmental teams preparing for open days and UCAS-style fairs.

A visitor scanning a packed sports hall wants to know one thing: is this my subject? Put the department or course name at the top third of the stand, big enough to read over the heads of a crowd, because the lower part of a roller banner disappears once people gather. Save entry requirements and module detail for a leaflet or QR code placed at chest height. One student photo says more than a collage of six.
Universities often end up with a mismatched row of stands because every school ordered its own. Agree a master template first, fixing the logo position, the title zone and the typeface, then let departments supply only a heading, a photo and a line of text. Central marketing signs off once and ordering becomes a list instead of thirty design projects. For a bigger central presence, such as an admissions desk, a pop-up display built on the same template gives a backdrop that ties everything together.
Stands spend most of the year in a cupboard, and many are damaged by being moved around campus rather than used. Label each carry bag with the department name, and check mechanisms a few weeks before the event, not the morning of. If only a course title has changed, some stands allow the graphic to be replaced without buying new hardware, depending on the model. Ask us when ordering. Our exhibition accessories cover the leaflet holders and cases that tend to go missing.
Many departments manage with one or two, placed where the queue forms and at the room entrance. Consider your room layout, because a banner at the door often helps more than one behind the desk.
Sometimes. It depends on the stand's mechanism and condition, and some cassettes are not designed to be reloaded. Tell us the make, width and height, and we will check whether a replacement graphic makes sense.
