Signs & display graphics
Make your business easier to find and your message easier to follow.
The band above your window is often the first thing a customer sees and the last thing a new owner thinks about. Shopfront fascia signs are for retailers, cafés and salons opening a unit, or replacing a tired board on an existing one.

Changing a fascia can bring in more parties than people expect. Your lease may require landlord approval, and a new sign, especially an illuminated one or one on a listed building or in a conservation area, may need advertisement consent or other permission. The rules depend on the building and the local authority, so speak to your local planning team early. Some high streets also have design guidance on colour and materials, and it is worth reading before you commit to a layout.
Measure the visible width and height, then see what lies beneath. Old boards can hide rotten timber, a shutter box or wiring. A fascia rarely has perfectly square corners on an older building, so measure at both ends. Decide how the panel ties into the building and who will fit it, and ask us what can be arranged for your site. Take straight-on photos from across the street, too, as they show how the sign relates to neighbouring shops.
Letter height on shopfront fascia signs should be set from where customers will read it, usually the other side of the road. Short names can go big, while long ones may need a second line. Tie it together with matching window graphics below.
There is no single answer, but the name should read comfortably from across the street without crowding the board. A common approach is to mock up the layout at scale and hold it against a photo of the shop.
Sometimes, if the old board is sound and well fixed, but a layer over a rotten or loose panel will just add weight. Have someone check its condition, and tell us what you find.
