Backdrop printing
Set the scene with a printed backdrop for a stage, exhibition or presentation.
A photo booth picture is framed tightly, so the background fills most of the image. Photo booth backdrops need to suit the lens, the lights and the guests, whether you run a hire business or are adding a booth to one party.

Set your camera up at its usual distance, then measure what appears in frame at the widest setting you use. That is the minimum size, plus a margin so that movement does not reveal the wall behind. Remember the floor: full-length shots need the print to run lower or meet a floor covering. Group shots need extra width, and tall guests on a stool need height. A background chosen from a stock size without this test often leaves a gap at the edges of every picture.
Fine stripes and tight repeats can cause a shimmering effect on digital cameras, and very busy florals can make people harder to see. Mid-tone colours and larger shapes tend to work well. Bright white can blow out under flash, while black swallows dark clothing. If a logo must appear, set it where heads will not block it, such as the upper corners or a repeated pattern. Try the design on screen with a test photo overlaid. File preparation is covered in our artwork guide.
Hire companies set up again and again, so handling matters as much as the print. Creases show in every shot. A fabric banner with a pole pocket for a stand is a common choice for photo booth backdrops, and some fabrics recover from folding better than others, so ask which suit your kit. For branded events, consider banner stands or a rigid wall where space allows. Keep spares of your most-booked designs and store them rolled if you can.
Some stretch and polyester fabrics handle folding better than others, and rolling is kinder than folding for most materials. Describe how you transport your kit, and we can compare the options with you.
Yes, plain green backgrounds are used with booth software that replaces the image. The colour should be even and matt, without creases. Check your software supplier's advice on shade and lighting before ordering.
