Face-mounting on Perspex
Your print is bonded to the back of a clear acrylic sheet, so you view it through the Perspex. Colours gain depth and the piece needs no frame or glass.

What face-mounting does.
A print behind glass in a frame has an air gap. A face-mounted print has none: the image is bonded directly to the acrylic. That close contact is why photographs look so rich and deep, and why the technique is popular with photographers and galleries.
Best suited to
- Photographs with strong colour or deep blacks
- Gallery and exhibition pieces
- Reception areas and client-facing rooms
- Images hung without a visible frame
What to think about first
Reflections. The surface is glossy, so a window opposite the wall will show up in it. Think about where the light falls before you commit.
Scratches. Acrylic marks more easily than glass. Keep it away from busy corridors and from anywhere it might be knocked by bags or trolleys.
Image quality. The clarity of the finish shows everything, good and bad. Start from the best file you have, and if your original is on film, consider a drum scan.
Weight and hanging. A rigid acrylic piece is heavier than a paper print. Tell us the size and the wall type so the fixing can be planned properly.
Face-mounted or framed?
A frame protects the edges, suits traditional rooms and makes it easy to change the picture. Face-mounting gives a clean, modern look but the print and acrylic become one object, so it cannot be swapped later.
Caring for it
Dust with a soft, clean cloth. Avoid paper towels and household glass cleaners, which can scratch or cloud acrylic. Ask us about suitable cleaning products for your piece.
Pricing
Face-mounting on Perspex is available on request and is priced per job, because it depends on the size and on the print itself. Send us the details and we will quote.

Your questions.
Is Perspex the same as acrylic?
Yes. Perspex is a well-known brand name for acrylic sheet.
Can a face-mounted print go outside?
It is mainly an interior finish. Tell us if you have an outdoor use in mind and we will suggest what suits it better.
Can you face-mount a print I already have?
Ask us first. It depends on the print and its surface, so we need to see it before we can say.
