30in x 20in prints
This is the largest print with its own volume pricing, and it matches the shape of most camera files. At 762mm by 508mm, it is roomy without demanding a whole wall.

The size where a photograph needs no crop.
A 30in x 20in print has a 3:2 shape, exactly like the frame of a DSLR or a mirrorless camera, and like 35mm film before them. A 6,000 x 4,000 pixel file drops straight in at 200 pixels per inch, with nothing trimmed. Few other sizes treat a photograph so kindly, and that is why photographers like it.
How it feels on the wall
In a room, 762mm is roughly the width of a small sideboard or a hall table, so it suits walls above furniture of that kind. On a chimney breast, it fills the space without crowding it. It sits between A2 and A1 in area, though its shape is a little longer. One person can carry it easily, mounted or not, and it fits on the back seat of most cars.

For a backing, mounting at this size is listed at £11 on 5mm Foamex and £20 on 3mm Dibond, on top of the print. Our £35 minimum for large format poster printing can matter on a very small order, so ask how it applies to yours.
Guide prices from our price list. They exclude VAT and delivery and assume print-ready artwork.
If you need one or two on a chosen material, look at the second table. If you need a run, the first gets more interesting, and the volume price does not need every print to show the same picture. They just have to be the same size and in one order. A photographer printing a set of ten different images could use that. If you are unsure which line suits your job, tell us what you want and we will point you to the right one.
Framing is straightforward
Frames sold as 20 x 30 inches are usually easy to find, which is one more reason to choose this size. Be aware that a frame marked 50 x 75cm is smaller than a print of 508 x 762mm. Check before you buy. It is the same with the outer size of a frame compared with the window of a mount: the print has to fit the opening, not the outside edge.
Other uses
This shape has a long history. British double crown posters, common for theatre and travel bills, are 30in x 20in, so if you are printing for theatre posters, it may be the format you want. It also scales cleanly: artwork built for 18in x 12in or 60in x 40in has the same proportions, so a file made for one fits the others without any cropping.

Your questions.
What is 30 x 20 inches in centimetres?
It is 76.2cm by 50.8cm. Our list shows a rounded metric version, so use exact figures if it has to fit a frame.
Does an A1 frame fit a 30in x 20in print?
No. A1 is 841mm x 594mm, so the print would sit loose inside it unless you use a mount cut to the right opening.
Is this a good size for a poster at a shop or a cinema?
It is a useful size for windows and display cases. Measure the case, as many are built for particular poster formats.
