14in x 11in prints
Most people order this size for one reason: they already have a frame for it. At 356mm by 279mm, it is a long-established American size that turns up in many homes.
A frame size more than a picture size.
Fourteen by eleven is a standard format in the US, where frames marked 11 x 14in are sold everywhere, and mat boards are cut to suit. In Britain it is less common, but you will find those frames online and in plenty of cupboards. If you have one, this print will fill it without any trimming.
On the wall, it is about the same width as the lid of a 15in laptop, and a bit taller. Compared with an A4 page, its area is roughly half as much again. So it is a good size for a desk, a bookshelf or a small group in a hallway.

Frames also vary slightly, and a lip around the inside covers a few millimetres of the print on each edge. Keep important details away from the very edge.

This shape does not match any camera. It is close to 5:4, and every common file will need cropping.

Who else might want it?
Anyone posting a picture across the Atlantic, for one. If you are sending a print to family or colleagues in the US, this is a size they can frame easily. It is also a useful choice for a photo gift that fits a frame you have been given. For a slightly larger picture, 16in x 12in gives you more area for a little more money, but only if the frame is right.

It is 35.56cm by 27.94cm. Our list rounds that to 35½cm by 28cm.
Is 14in x 11in the same as 11in x 14in?
Yes. It is the same print, described with the sides in the other order. Tell us if you want it portrait or landscape.
Can I have a white border on the print?
Yes, add it to your artwork or ask us to. A border can help if your image should not be cropped to this shape.
