1000mm roller banners

A metre-wide banner (39.4in) adds only 150mm to the standard width, which sounds like nothing. Run the numbers on your logo and headline, and the gain is bigger than it looks.

What 150mm actually buys.

On paper this is the smallest step in the range. On the wall it behaves differently, because everything in your design scales up with the width. Here is the same layout on both, assuming a 2000mm graphic height and a 50mm margin on each side. Check the true visible height of your stand.

A logo 50mm taller may not sound dramatic, but it is a fifth larger in each direction. The same goes for a headline. If the banner has to be read across a hall, that increase in letter height translates directly into extra reading distance.

Three signs it is right for you

Your name is long. A law firm with three surnames, a charity with a full title, a university department. On 850mm those shrink or split across two lines. A metre often lets them sit on one.

The room is big. In a hotel ballroom or a high-ceilinged atrium, a standard banner can look like a bookmark. The extra width helps it hold its own, particularly behind a speaker or at the end of a long room.

It stands alone. One banner doing the work of a whole display benefits from every extra centimetre. If you are bringing two or three, you may get more from the narrower width and the flexibility.

What it costs you in convenience

  • A longer bag, so check that it fits across the car boot, not just lengthways with the seats down.
  • Slightly more weight in the hand on a long walk from the station.
  • A wider footprint, which can matter on a small exhibition stand or a crowded foyer.
  • Artwork that is not interchangeable with your existing 850mm files, so someone must re-lay it. Our design team can adapt it.

A quick test

Mask out both widths on the floor and wall where the banner will stand, ideally with 2m lengths of tape. Then walk to the furthest spot from which someone needs to read it. If the space looks comfortable at a metre, and you can carry the bag, take the wider option. If you already own a matching set at 850mm, consistency probably matters more.

Banners at this width are quoted to order, each with a carry bag.

Useful to know

Your questions.

Can I reuse my 850mm artwork on a 1000mm banner?

Not directly. The shape is different, so stretching the file would distort it. The layout needs adjusting, which is usually a small job if you still have the original design file.

Does a 1000mm banner need two people?

One person can usually manage, but a second pair of hands makes it easier to guide the graphic up without it swinging.

Are 1000mm banners available double sided?

Ask us when you enquire. Tell us the width and that you want print on both faces, as that affects the stand and the price.
