Double-sided roller banners

A standard pull-up only speaks to people walking towards its face. Double-sided roller banners carry a graphic on each side of one base, which helps in walkways, lobbies and open exhibition spaces where visitors come from more than one direction.

Where the second side pays off

Before ordering, stand in the spot and watch how people move. If the banner will sit against a wall or at the back of a stand, the second face is wasted and a single roller banner makes more sense. The double version comes into its own in the middle of a foyer, at the end of an aisle, beside an entrance or at a junction of two routes. It can also replace two single stands where floor space is tight.

Same message twice, or two different jobs?

There is no rule that the faces must match. Repeating the artwork is simple and gives you consistent branding from both directions. Using two designs lets one side greet visitors while the other directs them, such as a welcome on the way in and a thank you or web address on the way out. If you go with different designs, supply two clearly named files and say which is which, as the two sides are printed and loaded separately.

Practical differences from a single stand

Because each graphic has its own spring mechanism, the base is heavier and bulkier, so check it suits the way you travel. Other points to keep in mind:

  • Some of the artwork disappears into the base, so keep text above the bottom edge
  • Back-to-back graphics need an opaque material if light might show through
  • Each face can be replaced on its own, depending on the stand

Your questions.

Do double-sided roller banners cost twice as much?

There are two prints and a more substantial base, so expect more than a single stand, though not necessarily double. Ask us for a figure based on your size, quantity and whether the artwork matches.

Will one side show through the other?

It should not if an opaque, blockout style material is used. This matters most near windows or under strong lights, so mention the location if the banner will stand in front of bright light.
