Poster printing
Put your message in focus with posters for shop windows, exhibitions, presentations and promotional campaigns.
A1 poster printing gives you 594 x 841mm, large enough to be noticed across a room but still manageable for one person to carry. Shops, architects, theatres and venue managers all use the size regularly.

Most off-the-shelf snap frames and display cases are built around standard A sizes, which is one of the main reasons A1 is so widely used. The frame's lip will cover a small strip of the poster on all sides, so keep logos, phone numbers and web addresses safely inside that border. Measure the case's visible area if you have an older unit. Heavy card can buckle in a tight frame, so check the depth it accepts. If you are not sure, ask us which stock is sensible for your frame.
A1 is a standard sheet for architectural and engineering drawings, where accuracy matters more than impact. Print from a PDF generated by your CAD package at 100% scale, and switch off any fit-to-page setting. Hairline strokes may vanish, so check your line weights. If the drawing is to scale, tell us, and include a scale bar so that any measured dimension can be verified on the print. For presentation boards that go to a client or planning meeting, mounting and laminating gives a firmer finish that will stand on an easel.
At this size, a poster will often be seen from several metres away, so the headline must do most of the work. Give it real scale, and keep supporting detail to a couple of lines. Images look their sharpest at around 150 to 200 pixels per inch at final size, which is about 3508 x 4967 pixels at the lower figure. Use the poster printing page to compare finishes and papers, then send your artwork through our upload page when you are ready.
Not always, as traditional film posters use different dimensions from A1. If you already own a frame, measure its opening before designing, and give us the size if it turns out to be non-standard.
Usually, yes. The sheet is manageable alone, particularly in a snap frame where the edges hold it. Use a level and fix the top first, so that the rest settles evenly.
