Hoarding graphics
Use construction and development hoardings to introduce a project, support a campaign or improve the appearance of a site boundary.
Construction site signs fall into two groups: signs that promote the project and signs that manage people on it. This page is for site managers, principal contractors and project marketing teams who need to get both right without overspending on temporary kit.

Site signs do not all need the same lifespan. A groundworks notice lasting a few weeks can be correx, which is light and easy to cable-tie to fencing. Contractor boards that will stay for the whole build deserve something rigid, and aluminium signs hold up better to wind, dust and knocks from plant. Ask yourself how many times the sign will be moved as the site changes shape, because repeated handling wears out lighter materials long before the weather does.
Printing onto fence panels and scaffold needs thought about wind. A solid banner on Heras fencing can put real load on feet and clips, so mesh is often chosen, and your temporary works coordinator should have a say on anything large fixed to scaffold. Where the perimeter is solid timber, hoarding graphics give a cleaner finish and more room for the project story, the contractor's details and a contact number for neighbours with questions about noise or deliveries.
Safety signage on site, such as mandatory PPE or prohibition notices, has required formats and symbols, and traffic management signs on or near a highway have rules of their own. Do not treat them as branding. Get the exact wording and specification from your health and safety lead, principal contractor or traffic management designer, and send it to us as the approved reference. We can then discuss production. Keep promotional signs visually separate so that important warnings are not lost among logos.
Rigid aluminium-based boards usually outlast fluted plastic on longer builds, especially when moved or knocked. Lifespan depends on exposure and handling, so tell us your programme length and we will suggest what fits.
Send us the specification and wording approved by your safety lead and we can discuss it. We would not write or select safety messages for you, as the requirements must come from whoever is responsible on site.
